Window 98 use Pentium 3, Window XP use Pentiume 4, Vista use Dual Core or Core2Duo and Window 7 use i3, i5 or i7 to run at reasonably speed and each hardware may cost around $500 to $800. So you end up with at least 4 unuse computer lying around in your basement. Render useless by Windows.

Linux run on Pentium 3, 4, Dual Core, Core2Duo, i3 to i7 and only upgrade when necessary. So no wastage of hardware.

I’d just like to interject for a moment… What you’re referring to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux.
